Company History

Pai's Maori origins stem from my mother's New Zealand roots and from the use of natural ingredients in our products - many of which have been used by the Maoris, and other indigenous groups, to heal and protect the skin for centuries.

I was first inspired to create a natural skincare range after years of suffering from a bad skin allergy. Doctors told me that the only treatment was to take high dose anti-histamine tablets on a daily basis.

Fed up with popping pills that just masked the problem, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started researching all the products I used, to see if  there were common ingredients triggering my attacks. What I discovered shocked me:

• Many chemicals used in skincare products can irritate the skin and cause allergies.
• These toxins build up in the body and have been linked to wider health problems such as  hormone disruption and even cancer.
• Cosmetics companies use these chemicals because they are cheap and extend product shelf-life.

I quit my job, completed a series of courses in natural skincare and got to work researching and developing a plant-based, chemical-free range. The result is Pai.
