Adult Acne

Our range of non-comedogenic natural skin care products are carefully formulated to work with acne prone skin.

We use natural skin balancers, such as Geranium, rather than harsh alcohol treatments which dry out and irritate skin. To clear congestion we use organic Thistle oil, which also helps to reduce pore size.

What is Acne?

Our skin produces sebum - a natural oil that moisturises skin. Acne breakouts occur when excessive sebum production plugs pores and traps dead skin cells and bacteria.

There are many contributing factors to acne, including stress, genetic predisposition, medical conditions and hormone imbalance attributed to prolonged use of the contraceptive pill as well as "foreign" oestregens.

Ingredients & Chemicals to Avoid:

Beeswax. Solid at room temperature and comedogenic (blocks pores).
Mineral Oils, Paraffin, Petrolatum. Create a film over the skin and block pores.
Alcohol. Dries and irritates skin. Can promote excessive sebum production.
Foaming Agents (e.g. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) & Detergents. Strip away natural oils, resulting in excessive sebum production.
Parabens & Phenoxyethanol. Thought to have an oestrogenic effect (disputed).
