Do you need help with a skin complaint?**
Sarah Brown founded Pai after years of suffering from skin allergies and irritations.
Hypersensitive Skin Occurred Overnight
Dear Sarah,
I have developed hyper sensitive skin, almost over night, starting under the left arm pit down to the back of the wrist.
First of all it was just the arm pit area, then spread to the rest of the arm the next day and has remained that way for 3 days now.

Dear Jack,
Thanks for getting in touch. It's very hard to say what's causing the rash without seeing it - it does sound quite unusual.
Rashes starting in the arm pit could be linked to the lymph nodes there and be an immune response to a local infection.
Many allergies are auto immune conditions. I would recommend you see a doctor as they would be better positioned to give you a proper medical diagnosis.
When skin rashes flare up for the first time it's also worth thinking about possible environmental triggers - is there anything you're doing differently? Such as using a different type of deodorant or eating differently?
Additionally, rashes can occur after a shock to the body, emotional or physical. For example, urticaria is sometimes triggered by bee stings and psoriasis can be brought on by stress.
As a starting point I would suggest you stop using any deodorant or soap on the affected area as these could be irritating the condition.
Leave the skin to recover naturally for at least a week and see if there is any improvement.
Also try and boost your immune system by eating well, drinking lots of fluids, avoiding alcohol and getting plenty of rest.
You could then try a little of our Chamomile & Rosehip Cream (test it on a small patch first) to see if that helps.
Chamomile is a natural anti inflammatory and Rosehip is brilliant at healing and regenerating the skin so should help to clear up any redness.
I'd recommend just starting with a small 5ml sample to see how you get on with it.
