Why You'll Love It

YOUR BARRIER BUDDY.

100% alcohol-free, this ultra-fine mist cools sensitive skin, calms it down and replenishes moisture with every pass. We've sized up the bottle and reworked the atomizer too, so every spritz feels even more satisfying.

Inside the Lotus Flower runs a living water that pulls minerals and antioxidants from the soil to nourish and defend the plant. Our smart extraction method captures all of those native compounds, though Lotus isn't working solo. It handles the calming, while Hyaluronic Acid takes care of hydration and Prebiotic Inulin resets the skin's microbiome to form a natural shield. Add to that our Deep Sea Magnesium and Minerals Extract, an anti-inflammatory, restorative complex that moves quickly through the skin and improves its health as it goes.

Mist freely whenever dryness or sensitivity strikes, or whenever your skin needs a moment to cool off. Exactly the tonic it's been asking for.

"Our mist blends the active water from the root of the Lotus – a nutrient-rich plant juice with the exact pH of healthy skin – with scientifically-proven prebiotics and Hyaluronic Acid. The Lotus plant can lie dormant for up to 100 years before the right circumstances coax it into regenerating. This is the love your skin needs to bloom again."

What exactly is Century Flower and what does it do for my skin?

Century Flower is a barrier defence face mist clinically proven to strengthen skin barrier function and reduce the occurrence of flare-ups. It works through four mechanisms simultaneously: calming active inflammation via lotus root water and zinc lactate, rebuilding barrier architecture with deep sea minerals in free ion form, rebalancing the skin's microbiome with prebiotic inulin from chicory root, and delivering multi-level hydration through hyaluronic acid and hydrolyzed glycosaminoglycans. It's 100% natural, alcohol-free and essential oil-free, so the gentle floral scent comes entirely from naturally occurring compounds in the orange blossom water.

How do I use Century Flower in my skincare routine?

Close your eyes and spritz over face and neck after cleansing to use it as your toning step. You can also layer it between serums, moisturisers and oils to encourage deeper product penetration and lock in moisture. It works brilliantly throughout the day too, under or over makeup, whenever your skin needs a calming hydration boost. The ultra-fine continuous spray from the improved atomiser means you get an even, satisfying mist every time.

Is Century Flower suitable for redness, rosacea or a damaged skin barrier?

This is exactly what Century Flower was designed for. A clinical study confirmed it strengthens barrier function and reduces the occurrence of flare-ups, addressing root causes rather than masking symptoms. It works across rosacea, contact dermatitis, post-retinoid sensitivity and over-exfoliation, and the formula removes both alcohol and essential oils, the two most common irritant triggers in skincare for reactive skin.

I have oily skin. Do I need a face mist?

Oily skin is often dehydrated skin overcompensating, and a lightweight mist can help rebalance that cycle. Century Flower is non-comedogenic, and its Zinc Lactate helps regulate excess sebum while suppressing the inflammatory cytokines that can worsen breakouts. The formula is completely oil-free, alcohol-free and essential oil-free, so there's nothing to strip your skin into producing more oil.

Is Century Flower safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Century Flower is confirmed safe for use during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The formula contains no retinoids, no essential oils, no alcohol and no known pregnancy-contraindicated ingredients. It's COSMOS Natural certified, 100% natural origin, and independently patch tested for sensitive skin, making it a reliable option when your skin may be more reactive than usual.

Can I use Century Flower alongside other active ingredients like retinol, vitamin C or AHAs?

Absolutely. Century Flower is a natural partner for potent actives because it actively rebuilds the barrier function that retinol and AHAs can temporarily compromise. Spritz it after cleansing and before your active serum to prep skin, or layer it between steps to encourage deeper product penetration and lock in moisture. The alcohol-free, essential oil-free formula adds zero irritant load to an already active-heavy routine.

How long does Century Flower take to show results?

You'll feel an immediate cooling, calming effect as the living waters soothe reactive skin on contact. The deeper benefits build over weeks: the deep sea minerals progressively upregulate barrier-building proteins like filaggrin and collagen with each application, while the magnesium activates your skin's own Hyaluronic Acid production, so hydration compounds rather than plateaus. An 11-woman clinical study confirmed measurable barrier strengthening and reduced flare-ups with consistent use.

What certifications does Century Flower have and what's it free from?

Century Flower is COSMOS Natural certified by the Soil Association, Leaping Bunny certified cruelty-free, verified vegan, dermatologist tested and approved, non-comedogenic, and independently patch tested. It's free from alcohol, essential oils, added fragrance, parabens, silicones, sulfates, mineral oil, phthalates, gluten, soy, palm and dyes. The Linalool listed in the INCI is a naturally occurring compound in the orange blossom water, not an added fragrance ingredient.

What are the 'living waters' in Century Flower and how are they different from botanical extracts?

The Lotus Root Water and Orange Blossom Water are living waters, meaning they're extracted directly from within the plant rather than being reconstituted botanical extracts dissolved in water. This preserves the plant's native complex of hydrosoluble vitamins, trace elements, mineral salts and amino acids in their natural ratios. Lotus root is particularly rich in bioactive compounds, including alkaloids, flavonoids like quercetin and kaempferol, triterpenoids and polyphenols, with a clinical trial on 21 volunteers confirming its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects.

What is the deep sea mineral technology in Century Flower and why does it matter?

The formula contains a patented extract of magnesium and 78+ trace minerals harvested from Irish coastal waters, delivered in free ion form with 100% bioavailability. Laser absorption studies show these minerals reach the dermal microvasculature in just 23 minutes, compared to the salt or oxide forms in most mineral skincare, which may never penetrate beyond the surface.

Six years of research at Dublin City University on 3D living human skin models demonstrated this technology regulates 500+ genes: upregulating filaggrin (the protein that builds the barrier's physical structure) and boosting collagen genes up to 20-fold, while downregulating repair-inhibiting genes like PTEN by 100-fold.

How does Century Flower support the skin's microbiome?

Inulin, a prebiotic from chicory root, selectively feeds beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus and Staphylococcus epidermidis while inhibiting pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus. A multi-omic 6-week clinical study confirmed measurable microbiome rebalancing, pathogen reduction, and enriched metabolic pathways that produce lactic acid (a natural moisturising factor) and skin lipid components that reinforce barrier function. Inulin also forms a protective surface film that reduces moisture evaporation, so the microbiome and hydration benefits work together.

How does the magnesium in Century Flower boost hyaluronic acid's effectiveness?

Magnesium is a required co-factor for Hyaluronic Acid synthesis, so the deep sea magnesium in Century Flower does double duty: it improves the efficacy of the topically applied HA in the formula, and it switches on your skin's own natural HA production. Studies from Dublin City University confirmed this mechanism, along with a 100% hydration increase sustained over 24 hours. That means hydration gets better the longer you use it, not just at the moment you spritz.

What makes Century Flower better than other face mists for sensitive skin?

Most face mists deliver surface hydration and a temporary soothing sensation. Century Flower is clinically proven to actually strengthen barrier function, with results confirmed in a clinical study, not just subjective feel-good claims. It's also 100% alcohol-free and essential oil-free, removing the two most common irritant triggers that many competing "sensitive skin" mists still contain.

Why should I choose Century Flower over a traditional toner?

Traditional toners are typically designed to remove residue or balance pH after cleansing. Century Flower does something fundamentally different: it's an active treatment step that rebuilds barrier architecture at the genetic level, with an 11-woman clinical study confirming it strengthens barrier function and reduces flare-ups. It also delivers prebiotic microbiome support, multi-depth hydration, and anti-inflammatory action across four molecular pathways, none of which a conventional toner is formulated to do.

How does Century Flower tackle inflammation through multiple pathways?

Four ingredients target redness through four different molecular routes: Lotus Root Water inhibits cutaneous neuropeptides and suppresses TNF-α-induced IL-6 and IL-8; Orange Blossom Water modulates the nitric oxide/cGMP pathway; Zinc Lactate suppresses inflammatory cytokines linked to conditions like rosacea; and deep sea minerals downregulate inflammatory genes, including IL-8 by 50-fold and PTEN by 100-fold. This redundancy means if one pathway is less relevant to your skin, the others pick up the slack.

Formula doesn't work for me

"I'm pretty sad to say this spray just doesn't work for me. It is supposed to calm my skin, but immediately after spraying it on my skin gets red and irritated, it also really burns my eyes and for a long time. I shut them tightly but a little mist must get trapped on my eye lashes and it really irritates them. I wanted to love this product and really love other Pai products! The mist on the spray is some of the best I've used and the smell is wonderful. Additionally, I do feel like it hydrates my skin but not enough to suffer the consequences."
