Pai Mind Day: Supporting Mental Health Awareness
Today is my friend Anna's birthday. She would have been turning 44.
Almost eight years ago Anna took her own life after battling depression. The day she died she'd been due to come and see me to get advice on her skin.
Pai Mind Day marks Anna's special day, and is a platform to elevate mental health awareness.
Why Mental Health Matters
What feels important is to normalise it. One in four of us experience a mental health problem on any given day. I suspect that statistic may actually be understated right now.
Anna felt unable to speak of the pain she was in or to access the right support. We need to make sure others are able to find their voice and don't feel so alone.
Supporting Mind Charity
Each year we support Mind, the UK's leading mental health charity, and one that Anna's parents have supported tirelessly since her death.

Mind offers support through its helpline and helps those experiencing mental stress navigate challenging times. They provide crucial resources for everything from workplace stress to accessing support through the benefits system.
Mind is also campaigning for reform of the Mental Health Act. This is vital legislation under which Black people are four times more likely to be sectioned and three times more likely to be restrained or held in isolation while in hospital.
How We Support Mind Day
Throughout our Mind Day campaigns, we donate a significant portion of sales to Mind. This annual tradition helps fund their vital work supporting mental health across the UK.
Beyond the financial support, we believe in using our platform to start conversations. Mental health affects how we feel inside and out. Stress shows on our skin. Anxiety disrupts our sleep. Depression can change our entire relationship with self-care.
Continuing Anna's Legacy
Anna's story reminds us that behind every statistic is a real person. Someone's friend, daughter, colleague. Someone who mattered.
When we talk openly about mental health, we chip away at the stigma that stops people seeking help. When we support organisations like Mind, we fund the helplines and resources that could save a life.
Mind Day isn't just about remembering Anna. It's about making sure others don't suffer in silence as she did.
